more ARMITAGES

Jarom Armitage rec'd his Melchezidek Priesthood on Sunday at Stake Conference and so we were able to catch up with his family who arrived in Perth from New Zealand last Friday. It was fun hanging out with them and we were able to get to know them better, do some shopping and show them around Perth.

Kings Park seems to be a ready attraction for any visitor so we decided to have Family Home Evening and dinner up there. Some one invited all the mozzies...not happy jan.

Hannah, Uncle Simon, Aunty Diane, Uncle Peter, Aunty Templey with Hayden n Haydee back there. All hanging out at the whispering wall. Lets keep those sweet nothings to ourselves aye Uncle Pete...

THE MOVE BACK TO PERTH

Ok so we lasted 6 months in Canberra. You thought the move to Canberra was huge. Check this move out. Murphys Law...mate. All we could say was....GOOD TIMES!!!

Heres how it went.

We decided to move on Saturday night, Hayden advised the Bishopric the next day at PEC Sunday Morning, that Sunday night Hayden rang his Dad to let him know of our decision to move back. He rang back 2 hours later (3pm) to find out how long it would take us to pack our furniture and to see if we could pack it in a day. By 8pm Sunday Night we had the whole house packed and ready to go. Dad rang back at about 9pm and advised that we could use his truck to move our gear. Monday, we finished packing the kitchen and Hayden flew back to Perth to get the truck. By Thursday night, He and his brother Matthew had driven back to Canberra driving without stops.Along the way Matt recieved his mission call. Canada Calgary Mission!!!

Kate and Damo arrived into Canberra Thursday night and came to help us load the truck on Friday. By Friday night we had returned the keys and started our drive home approx 4000kms.

Our adventure wasn't without its woes

We had the car on the car trailer and about 50 mins into our journey the cops pulled us over advising of a blowout, no fine. This happened just south of Yass. So we spent the night in the truck on the side of the road in Yass and the next day travelled back to Canberra to get 2 2ndhand 69 Valiant rims and and new tyres. Get back to the truck to find that the stud pattern on one of the rim didn't match. AAAAARRRRGGH!!! So we kept driving without a spare. We had driven about 10 minutes past Gundagai 5 hours outta Canberra and BOOM!!! New tyre blew. Problem was we were blowing out the rims because we couldn't feel or see the blowout until cars tooted.

So we managed to pick up a spare Rim at a wreckers a minute away and decided to spend the night in a motel in Gundagai. It was soooo nice to lie down on the bed and have a hearty steak meal. The showers were more of a spray. Felt like someone was standing above me with a spray bottle. We rang a guy who came out that night and changed the tyre from one rim to the other. Nice people these country folk. So that meant that I was to drive the Nova and we would rotate and share the driving 3 ways. Don't ask me how we did it but we did.

These shots were taken crossing the Nullabor. There was blood everywhere from all the dead kangaroo carcasses that lay on the side of the road. I must've counted at least 150 dead. OK gruesome i know. But all apart of the experience. Haydee and I had no stereo in the Nova so we got by hours in the car singing primary songs, playing eye spy, playing with her bratz dolls, taking photos and singing more and more primary songs over and over and over again.

These were taken on the other side of the 90 mile straight.

Haydee still in good spirits and we discovered a lil talent. She became quite a good lil photographer.

We arrived in Perth on Tuesday night around 11pm. It was so good to be home, to have a shower and lie on the bed. But one awesome experience that I hope never to repeat. If I do it will be on a plane or in a comfy 4WD with a bed in back.

2008 Sydney

Darling Harbour was great. Never knew there was so much to do in the city.

Since the Wildcats (Perth's Bball team) were playing Sydney in the Semi Finals of the NBL season, we thought it might be a great time to gate crash Aunty Rangi and Aunty Darlz. So we hung out at Darling Harbour and waited for them to finish work.

The Navy was in town so we were able to get a close up of the submarine docked in the harbour along with the some cruise ship i think the Virgo Star or something or rather. I didn't see it hence the photo of Hayden and haydee running back from it.

Just looking at these photos you'd think Haydee has a tongue problem

End of March Hayden and I played in Easter Comp a bball tournament which was held in Penrith somewhere. All I know is that Hayden played for Le Reve (The Hobby's Team) and I managed to fill in for a team whose players took off after the first game. Didn't come anywhere but it was fun. Oh! Didn't come last either. We stayed with my cousin Frances Perry and her family (Wayne - hubby, kids Michael and Ella). We had so much fun with them and Hayden got on so well with Wayne. Frances and I, well it was like travelling down memory lane. Rangi and Darlene came up to support us and even came for dinner Sunday...ahhh nothing like somebody else doing the cooking huh. Anyway, alot of laughs and alot of fun. I think i lost 5 kg that weekend. But what I lost in weight i gained in sore muscles...Look out Brisbane...the family are putting a team in next years comp 2009.

2008 CANBERRA Feb - July

Canberra, well what can I say but 'Sayonara' to expensive living and cold weather. January 2008 we decide to move from Perth to Canberra so Hayden could attend Australia National Unversity, and so we could be closer to my side of the family. After a considerable deliberation ie One day at the temple, we decided it would be a nice change. The move itself couldn't have been more smooth. We settled at 6 Freda Bennett Circuit, Nicholls which was on the outskirts of Canberra. A nice little community and safe which was a great thing. It just meant we had to travel to do our shopping. I must admit we did struggle living there, but they had so many free facilities for Haydee especially the War Memorial, Museums and beloved QUESTACON.

Although a great experience, Im sure we won't be experiencing it again any time soon. On the upside, we met some wonderful people and made some great friends.

Meet The Dalmans, Leigh my fellow family history compadre, Alex, my gym buddy and their adorable lil Joshua. We had so much fun spending time with them. Awesome people!!!

We can't forget the beloved La ulu Family. They became our home away from home and a reminder of all things kiwi and polynesian. If i had a photo I'd post it, but I don't so send one if you please.

We also did alot of travelling, driving up to Brisbane and spending numerous weekends in Sydney. Had a great time there.

Meet Haydee...Her face says it all. She brings so much love and laughter to our lives that you can't help but smile. She enjoys chocolate, hot milo's, cake, painting, playing with her Bratz dolls, shopping, playing with DAD and most of all morning cuddles in Mum n Dad's Bed.

SO GIVE IT UP FOR HAYDEE!!!!

Me...Mother, Wife, homemaker, organiser, banker, lately a professional furniture remover, cleaner, taxi, friend, primary teacher, facilitator, woman of leisure, fixer upper/handywoman and sports person.

Its a full time job being a mother and I am loving every minute of it. It gives me the opportunity to spend Hayden's money (which he doesn't have...hahaha), having girl time with Haydee and getting my home and food storage in order. Man that sounds so Molly....argh!!!

Hayden said...I am 180 lbs, blond hair (balding fast), a university student with alot of skills in a range of things mainly in the building and construction industry. I enjoy most sports...like to keep up to date with footy esp with finals coming up but my passion is bball. This is my main sport. Ask me about the NBL in Australia I'll give you stats on all players and my tippings for this season. Ask me about the Euro league I'll tell you who the up and comers are. I like to keep fit and healthy and would like significant land holdings for my family to run around on. Im a Mormon and Elders Quorum advisor. I absolutely love my wife and daughter and think they are the most beautiful of Gods creation. Im a very lucky man....
